How it was made.

We created the Miniverse, a miniature world of places you can book with Airbnb gift cards.

Every single frame was handcrafted. At 24fps for a 15 second video, there were 360 individual frames created per video, so 1,440 in total.

This was executed with “replacement animation,” meaning that in order to create the feeling of real motion, each character was individually printed in different poses, which were replaced frame by frame and when sped up give the appearance of motion
